The Objective​
Develop a comprehensive website to showcase the history and significance of the Blue Star program, highlighting honors and leadership involved. The website will provide easy access to sponsorship and nomination forms, feature an inquiry form, and offer an FAQ section. Additionally, it will prominently display all sponsors and supporters, including five-star, four-star, and three-star contributors, creating a centralized platform for inquiries and information dissemination.
The Work
We focused on creating a user-friendly website tailored to the needs of our predominantly elder audience, emphasizing simplicity and ease of navigation. Our design approach centered around a minimalistic layout, ensuring clarity and reducing confusion. We strategically incorporated image sections to showcase sponsors and leadership prominently, while a large banner highlighted updates and events of the year for easy visibility. To organize information effectively, we utilized accordion-style sections for FAQs, keeping relevant details accessible without overwhelming users. Essential forms for sponsorship and nominations were placed in the footer for convenient access. Leveraging Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), we streamlined content management for volunteers, enabling seamless updates without technical hurdles. In line with our commitment to performance, we minimized plugin usage and developed a custom lightweight theme. We prioritized responsiveness across devices and incorporated accessibility features to ensure inclusivity for all users. Through iterative testing and refinement, we ensured the website delivers an intuitive, informative, and accessible experience for our community.
